Eliminate unnecessary startup programs. Whenever you install a new computer it will want to launch at startup, whether it asks for permission or not. These programs will do two things. First they will cause a slow startup time. Second they eat up valuable RAM causing your computer to run sluggishly. To increase computer speed it would be wise to get rid of them. You can perform this task manually or use a program to identify unneeded startup programs for you.
